The European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on erythritol imports from China, ranging from 34.4% to 233.3%. These measures, implemented to protect the €30m EU market, will be collected retroactively from 7 June 2024. The Commission's investigation revealed that dumped Chinese imports were causing significant harm to the Union industry, which had been forced to halt production in late 2022. The duties aim to ensure a level playing field and prevent the potential closure of EU erythritol manufacturers.
