Brexit

11 pm (GMT) on 31 December 2020 marked the end of the Brexit transition/implementation period entered into following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. At this point in time (referred to in UK law as ‘IP completion day’), key transitional arrangements came to an end and significant changes began to take effect across the UK’s legal regime.

Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 

The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, SI 2020/1111 came into force on IP completion day. The regulations made provision to implement Part 3 (separation provisions) of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the EU and the European Atomic Energy Community dated 19 October 2019 (the Withdrawal Agreement), and the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland in the Withdrawal Agreement. Those amendments included amendments to Part 4 of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009, SI 2009/1348 (CDG Regulations),
